11th August 2025.  It has been a busy week!

Firstly last Saturday saw the 53rd Borrowdale Fell Race brilliantly organised by Scoffer and a lot of BFR members and friends. We had glorious weather which meant that folks could stand around and chat in the sun. In the race Finlay Wild was looking as if he might be in touch with the record as far as Honister Hause but in the event he missed it but was still under 3 hours for the first time in four years. The next three runners were also under 3 hours so well done Ben Rothery, Finaly Grant  and Hatty Bolton. In the Ladies race Eve Pannone won from Nicola Jackson and Grace Culling.

On Wednesday evening we were treated to another Scoff organised Steel Fell Race and once again the weather smiled on us. A record entry of 116 runners enjoyed a rapid up and down of Steel Fell with Gavin Bland to give encouragement at the summit turnaround. A few prizeswere awarded and a grand time was ad by all.
